I'm a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at San Diego State University. Most of what I do is hands-on design work, split across a Formula SAE race team, a research lab, and engineering internships.
On Aztec Electric Racing I'm a Vehicle Dynamics and Chassis Engineer working on the team's Formula SAE electric car. I build CAD models and analyze suspension and powertrain components in SolidWorks, run lap-time and performance simulations in OptimumLap and ChassisSim, and support center-of-gravity testing to validate how the car actually performs. I also designed a firewall that made the car easier to service without losing rigidity.
Through a faculty-advised independent study (ME 499) under Dr. Meysam Heydari Gharahcheshmeh, I research alongside the Advanced Manufacturing for Energy Devices Lab at SDSU. My work focuses on 3D modeling and visualization of chemical vapor deposition systems and energy devices, producing engineering drawings and CAD models that translate energy-systems concepts into manufacturable designs.
Before that I spent over a year as a Student Engineer at Caltrans, working on roadways, culverts, drainage, stormwater, ADA, and complete-streets projects in Civil 3D and MicroStation, along with quantity takeoffs and cost estimates. Most recently I joined Affiliated Engineers as a Mechanical Engineering Intern, designing HVAC ductwork and piping systems for specialized facilities like hospitals, laboratories, and research buildings.
